Our Story

It was a wild Sunday evening (dare I say it?) on a school night!  Coy, ever the smooth operator, took Jane to a groovy local wine bar and the vibes were electric.  They chatted while sharing a BBQ chicken pizza (even though Coy loathed BBQ chicken pizzas)!  But hold up, the real groove was just getting started!  Jane invited Coy to join her and her fabulous crew for their annual New Year's Eve bash, and of course, Coy was all in, saying "yeah, baby!"

When the pandemic hit things got a little funky.  But Coy wasn't about to let Jane slip out of his world.  He dropped off care packages like a true romantic: sparkling water, and Jane's favorite: peanut M&Ms.  He even made a few cheeky drawings of Sunny and Clorox wipes-because, well, you know germs...

As the pandemic mellowed out, Jane swung by Coy's for a bagel and lox extravaganza while watching a football game.  Three hours later, though, their stomachs were doing the twist- food poisoning vibes, man, real groovy in all the wrong ways!

Still, they got through it-together.  And from there, it was dates galore.  Stay-at-home sushi dates, watching Adam Sandler comedies, and hey... Sunny (the cat) even came over to visit Coy a few times!  He really dug the scene at "casa de Coy!"

Flash forward through the adventure- the couple's journey took them to the frosty glaciers of Alaska, up through the burning sands of Qatar, and the vast turquoise open seas of the Maldives.  They are really livin' the dream!

The Engagement

Now, after nearly four years of radical togetherness, Coy brought a custom ring he designed to California on their annual Thanksgiving trip.  Hungry from the flight, they headed straight to Fuki Sushi in Palo Alto for dinner.  Upon entering, the hostess hit them with the oddest question: "Got any valuables in the car?"  Jane quick as a whip, responded "nah, only two days of clothes in our carry-ons."  Little did she know, the ring was stashed in a backpack in the trunk!  Coy, meanwhile, was a bundle of nerves, checking the car like a hawk every chance he could during dinner.  The anxiety was real, folks!

Then, after getting her Dad's blessing during Thanksgiving dinner, they cruised down to Monterey, California.  Coy's plan?  To propose in front of the Lone Cypress on 17 Mile Drive.  Classic move, right?  Wrong.  The "romantic" spot was a parking lot laden with the unmistakable scent of seagull droppings-yikes.

But Coy isn't a space cadet, so he called an audible... Instead, he took them on a morning stroll along Carmel State Beach.  The waves were whispering in the background when Coy dropped to one knee, asking Jane to spend forever with him.  Jane, with a far out burst of excitement, let out a wild scream, like a rock star on stage, groovin' and twistin' around, totally diggin' the moment! -for a solid minute-before she remembered she still had to say the big "YES!". Classic Jane, totally groovy.

They ended the day celebrating at their favorite local wineries in Carmel, toasting to the future with a glass in hand, forever locked in this wild, beautiful ride together. Cheers to love, and to the grooviest couple around!
